However, when we read the newspaper or watch news in TV, almost daily we hear about very serious accidents. It is very sad to see, when sometimes whole families are injured or dead.
Loaded buses, big luxury vehicles, container vehicles, three wheelers and motor bicycles are mostly involved in road accidents. There are several reasons for this increasing rate. Nowadays people are free to go anywhere at any time. Life is a race. So, most people travel at night to save time. But this is dangerous.
Unfortunately driving after liquor is becoming common. Young people speeding in luxury cars often become victims’ serious accidents. Specially bus and lorry drivers make roads dangerous for innocent people as they drive fast without considering the size and the weight of their vehicles. Using mobile Phones while driving is another dangerous habit. These careless drivers are extremely dangerous not only to other innocent road uses but also to pedestrians. Many people including school children have lost their lives due to these road accidents.

Another method of reducing accidents is to check each and every vehicle every year for road worthiness. For example, braking system and tires can be checked while doing the annual emissions test. Similar tests are compulsory in most developed countries. With the radio development of our network similar tests and regulations is a must.
Finally, our politicians must set an example and use roads as good and caring citizens.
