Having a beautiful village is another bless for a nice life. I think I am blessed with that. My village is Kadawala. It is situated in Gampaha district. It is 15km away from Negombo town. It is a beautiful village surrounded by a range a mountains. There are many beautiful places in my village. There are a lot of paddy fields in my village. There is also a small stream in my village. The farmers use the water of this stream to cultivate paddy. Within my free time I have gone across these all beautiful places. When I was a little older I used to travel through these sites with my friends. We hid in the bushes in these forest areas and asked one to find us. We were back to home with yummy fruits collected from the wild. In the rainy days, a tree trunk was used as a canoe and we were rowing along the stream.

There are both Catholic and Buddhist people in my village. The number of people in my village is around 150 and there are nearly 30 houses. There is a big temple and a church too. Most of the people live in my village are businessmen. There are 2 shops in my village to which we usually go for groceries. There are farmers, teachers, doctors and engineers too. Our village is very calm and quiet because there are many trees around us. We have a preschool in our village. There is a school too. Our roads are made of gravel. There is a bus going towards the nearest city. We have been provided this bus by the board of transportation. An elders' association and children's association are there in my village. We celebrate the new year collectively with the villagers as one family. All the villagers are very supportive. They are very kind too. I love my village.
